Ashby Loft Racing Pigeons come from an assortment of great performance racing pigeon strains.  I am building my family of racing pigeons around birds down from some of the best racing pigeons in the world.  Van Dyck’s “Kannibaal”, Koopman’s “Kliene Dirk”, Mike Ganus’ “Hollywood”, Kenny Rhode’s (Fred Smelter) “Witoger 720″ and David Clausing’s “410″ plus more!  I have picked some outstanding performance pigeons for my breeding stock.  These racing pigeons are winning for people all over the world.

It’s a simple matter of genetics.  As they say, “The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree”.  As I continue to test my racing pigeons in club pigeon races and One Loft Races I select my winners and top pigeons to continue the legacy of the winning pigeons I have selected to build my loft around.  Proper nutrition, selective breeding, and healthy pigeons are of the utmost importance at Ashby Loft.

My interest in pigeon racing began when I starting using racing pigeons to train my English Pointers for upland hunting and field trials.  I built a very small pigeon loft to house 8 to 10 pigeons.   It was a joy for me to watch these pigeons fly each night as I let them out of the loft.  I was amazed each time I took the birds out to train the dogs at various locations and different distances.  Soon I had built a larger pigeon loft which was a very loft loft  in terms of what I needed for training pointing dogs.  When I decided I wanted to race pigeons I soon found that a 6 x 8 loft was not going to work well for me.  Ashby Loft is growing and on to a third pigeon loft, enjoying the pigeons every day.
